Foundation for Investigation of Communist Crimes.

An international conference concerning the crimes of communism was held in Budapest on the 6-8 of March. The conference was organized by the The European Foundation for the Disclosure and Investigation of Communist Crimes. Institutions, embassies and organizations from Europe, USA and Canada were invited.  In the conference delegates discussed the situation in the World in context of condemnation of communists crimes. It was stated that in the World knowledge of communist crimes is still very low. It is unimagible to wear Adolf Hitler T-shirt, but  Che Guevara, Mao or Lenin T-shirts are in public sell around the World. When nazi crimes are rightfully condemned, the same has not happened with communist crimes. The question is not only in Stalinist crimes, communism has killed more as 100 million people around the World – and the list is growing. Communism has from the beginning been evil idea, who’s answer to the World problems was violence and terror. When we could not deal with past, we must relive it. Condemnation of communist crimes is only way to avoid, that some people get again idea to kill other people, because they belong to “wrong” political or social group. They know, that killing other people for racial or religious grounds is not welcomed, but till communism exists killing people for political or social reasons looks for some people not so bad idea.

Among other initiatives a joint letter was sent by the delegates to the Swedish Prime Minister Fredrik Reinfeldt and Foreign Minister Carl Bildt concerning the Swedish EU Presidency and the commemoration of the 20th anniversary of the liberation of from Communism, the democratization of the Baltic states, Eastern and Central Europe, and the peaceful reunification of the continent. European Parliament has declared 23.August remebrance day of victims of communism and nazism. On 23.august 1939 nazi Germany and communist Russia signed so called Molotov-Ribbentrop pact, dividing the World and launching the II World War. Week later, on 01.September 1939 Hitler attacked Poland from one side, on 17.september Stalin from other side. As a result of pact nations of Central and Eastern Europe lost millions of their citizens to nazi and Soviet terror, liberating themselves from totalitarianism only after fall of communism.

The letter was signed by delegates from the United States, Canada, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovenia, Sweden, the Ukraine, Austria and England.

Laar’s claim that Communism has killed 100 million around the world has been exposed by serious scholars as being absurd propaganda.

For Laar to equate respected national heroes of nations such as Lenin, Mao, and Che Guevara to Hitler amounts to malicious slander. Unlike Hitler, the bodies of Lenin and Mao are honorably displayed in mausoleums that have become landmarks of Moscow and Beijing. Che Guevara is respectfully buried in Santa Clara. The only ones that can be equated to Nazis are those that follow the Estonian fascist tendency embodied by Mart Laar. Laar even disseminates neo-fascist propaganda denying the Holocaust when he seeks to equate the Nazis to the Russians. The fact is that nothing the Russians did can possibly compare to the premeditated industrialized genocide of Russians, Jews, Poles, and Communists carried out by the Nazi German regime and their Estonian and Latvian collaborators.

You should be nice to Communists so that the People’s Liberation Army will treat you well when they arrive in your hometown soon. I’d like to this coward Mart Laar go to China, Cuba, or DPRK and spout this slander against Communists and see what kind of response he gets. He wouldn’t last five minutes.

    E. Gulian: You state that Laar’s comments that 100 million people have been killed due to communism is absurd propaganda. Well I beg to differ with you and think you are the one that is spewing out the propaganda. It makes no difference between what Hitler did as to what Stallin or Maoor Guevara did. All is evi, and they all killed for the betterment of their country. Ethnic and political cleansing is not something that Hitler invented. Stallin was doing it way before Hitler came into power.

The numbers are there. Even within the past 30 years to the present look at the slaughter in Tibet, Cambodia, Laos to name just a few. You take in all the countries and the figure of 100 million is not a made up figure at all. Any type of dicatorship government such as Hitler’s, Stallins and Mao’s incorporated slaughter. You can add South America countries in there as well. In some of these South American coutries thousands had gone missing. Sting even wrote a song about how the woman whose husbands have gone missing dance with their photo. So E. Gulian I think you should go back and check on your facts and try to stop being in denial of what so many know to be true.

  • Thank You Katrin MacLean! There is not very much to add. But let’s not become angry on this poor E.Gulian. To live with such of hatred in modern World is not easy – specially after the Communist World System went so successfully to the grave. I am very happy, that I did my small part to send it there.

Frankly, imperialists and their nationalist-revionist affiliates in countries of east-central Europe are not in a position to lecture others on humanism. Last I checked, the Anglo-American hordes accompanied by men from countries like Estonia still continue with their ongoing aggression against the people of Iraq and Afghanistan, where millions of people have been killed, maimed, or displaced. In the infamous Azizabad massacre, NATO hordes killed dozens of children in cold blood.

It’s also ironic for neo-fascists from Estonia engage in this obscene revisionism and falsification of history. People like Mart Laar and his ideological ancestors were the ones who were complicit in the most horrific war crimes and genocidal massacres of the twentieth century. Yet, the present regime in Estonia represented by people like Mart Laar glorify and whitewash the crimes of their ideological ancestors like the criminals of Waffen SS. What you neo-fascists are trying to is demonize victims such as Russians in order to rehabilitate your discredited and hateful ideology.
