Mr.Laar, as a former prime minister, don’t you think that new myths are something what politicians need?
Usually when you are designing a big new project (here the envisioned EU) you usually need some myths or an attractive brand which could help you “sell” it. And it is especially needed when the project you are “selling” stands on rather week fundaments.
Thus the discussion you opened should rather not be about the myths but rather about the Europe (or EU) we (or politicians) would like to have.

Sorry for very late answer. First I worked too much with my estonian blog and forgot English one. And secondly for some time I did not understand Your question, as I from my pint of You have not said something like this. But just now I read again my comment and found – sorry, sorry – that in one sentence there was a word missing – You must read it so “You can only imagine how the developments in “old Europe” had been, when Nazism and Fascism have not been CONDEMNED in the way they were.” I corrected the text as well.

I really think that without denatzification-campaigne and condemnation of nazi-crimes – modern Europe probably has not been possible. Excact at the same way must done with communism.
